Dar Al-Khayal
The interiors of a low, linear residence in Benghazi, designed by DARA Architects as an edit of the landscape — single-storey pavilions stitched together by deep verandas, with architecture, garden, and water held on one datum. DIUM carried the interior architecture, finishes, joinery, lighting, and furniture, so that the house was drawn by one hand inside and out.
Continuous glazing dissolves the boundary between the spaces and the ground, and the interior answers with restraint: a few materials chosen to be read against the garden rather than against each other, and a single calm light temperature from space to space. A resort-like quiet, held within a domestic plan.
