Dar Al-Nakheel

A private residence of a little over a thousand square metres in Al Wakra, on the coast south of Doha, designed for elegance without performance — a house that keeps its composure and rewards long habitation. DIUM designed the interior throughout: plan, finishes, joinery, and lighting.

The proportions are generous but disciplined, and the spaces unfold from public to private, each threshold a degree quieter than the last. Light is treated as the principal material, admitted and shaped before any surface is chosen, so that the house reads as cool and still at every hour of a long summer.
