Dokkan Smart Store
A smart supermarket in Tripoli’s Siyaheya district that pairs an app-led shopping journey with a mixed retail-and-office programme. The interior is given an urban edge, with planted trees anchoring the floor and softening the circulation.
The design is honest about being commercial: it works with the operation, not against it, and keeps its ambition in proportion and finish rather than in gesture. A supermarket is a daily building, and it was designed to be used daily.
DIUM / Dokkan Smart StoreHONEST ABOUT BEING COMMERCIAL.
The Journey
The shopping journey is led by the app and followed by the plan. Circulation is set out so that the sequence on the screen and the sequence on the floor are the same, and the interior does not compete with the interface; it completes it.
The Floor
The trees do the work that fixtures usually do. Planted at the points where the floor turns, they anchor the plan, soften the circulation, and give a commercial interior an urban character — a street, not an aisle.
The Programme
Retail and offices share one building and one language. The design works with the operation — stocking, servicing, the daily turnover of goods — rather than against it, and keeps its ambition in proportion and finish instead of in gesture.
